One day, eyes, mouth, and nose argued with each other that they were the most important organ.  Nose said, "I am most important because I'm the one who breaths, if I don't breath just for a few minutes then we will die. And I am useful for smelling too".   Mouth and eyes laughed out loud and then Mouth said, "I am most important because I'm the one who lets water and food inside, if I don't take in water or eat food for a few days then we will not have any energy and we will die. And I am useful for talking too. A Boy Was Crying Two boys were playing on the street and met with an accident as a car hit them and sped away. The boy who lost his left ring finger in the accident was crying out loud in severe pain, blood pouring out profusely. He screamed at the other boy "I'm crying in pain, lying flat on the ground, and you are not even lifting me up, what kind of friend are you?" and turned to his friend to find his friend had lost both his hands in that accident and was barely conscious. Moral : It's easy to judge others wrongly based on our own difficult situation, it takes sincere effort and unbiased mind to understand other's situation. The one who cries the loudest is not necessarily the one who has lost the most. No cry doesn’t mean there is no pain. Now tell this short story to kids (without giving any hint about the moral/s) and ask them what is the moral of the story. Give it a try. A side of Earth is dark, and other bright Based on side, Earth shows to Sun's light I'm so happy, that it rotates alright And we experience day and night We cannot see without the light Even when the object is pure white To be seen, it's not the weight or height It's the position, which has to be right But remember, with external light It could all be a very wonderful sight And we may see it all, but gain no insight For that we should turn on our inner light Diwali, a festival of lights, thinking about writing a poem about Diwali for my 5 year old son I ended up writing a short poem about light.

How many of us actually realize that there is no Sunrise or Sunset? Yes, neither does Sun rise nor does it set. There is light on the side of earth which faces Sun and the other side is dark. As Earth rotates on its axis it appears as if Sun is rising and setting.

One of the ideas I came up with while playing Match Match or Pairs game using cards with my wife and 5 year old son was to create a one liner using the two cards that would help me to remember the cards that was flipped.  Note - card set that we used was kids card set for example with animals, tree, birds, etc.   If my first card is Apple and second card a Tree then I would create a one liner "An apple fell from the tree".  This helped me to remember the cards much better.  With this approach I was winning more often. Then to keep it equal I shared the technique with them too and the game became quite interesting as each of us had to say a one liner connecting both the cards and it was fun to hear the connections. 

A very simple, short and sweet poem from my 4 years old son Reaan to his best friend Dia, who is 3 years old, on the fasching (Carnival) day. Dia was dressed as as Butterfly for fasching and this poem was created in an instant.
