Usually when it is technical content I post it in akvkbi.com and when it is emotions I post it here in akclarity.com  . But, this time it is a combination of two; it's data and an imagination of what data would feel about BI (Business Intelligence), so posting it in both the blogs. For those who understand data and BI relationship this should resonate and for others just think that this is between a married couple. It would be great if we had puzzles based on data that children and also adults could solve.  For example, I came up with one of the data puzzles on my birthday and sent it out to relevant employees. To solve the puzzle they had to carry out data analysis across multiple business areas. My idea was to increase awareness about various domain data available in the data warehouse and in the BI reporting and analytics platform. The final result would equal my age (this was birthday special, but I didn't give any additional hint except for sending the puzzle and sweets at my desk email together).  If you are a data analyst / BI professional, give this a try. 

Uncle : What do you do young man? Young man : Uncle, I am learning machine learning Uncle : What, what, what is machine learning? Young man : hmmm, in simple words, machine learns from data, a lot of data and produces results based on learning from data Uncle : So if machines are learning from data, what the hell are you learning? Young man : I am learning how to make the machines learn from data Uncle : I need a beer, now!

I don't know if there is anyone who understands the value of data as much as I do, because if you understood the value of data, you would definitely try IBI

Yes, even bad quality data speaks the truth. It tells us that someone somewhere needs attention, it tells us that someone needs training and someone needs to create awareness about how the data is being used and how difficult he is making it for them to use it. Even bad quality data speaks the truth

State of mind can fool you, data will not.  All of us have experienced this in one way or other. For example, when travelling in a high speed train like TGV between Germany and France, do we know what's the train speed? We could be travelling at 320 KMPH speed but our mind could feel it's like 30 or 50 KMPH. It's only when we look at the speed display board that we know the real speed.  See IBI .

There is so much talk about big data happening that there is probably a need to come up with new type of storage container to store these talks about big data. 

It doesn't matter whether data is big or not, will you make it big with data is what matters.  See IBI for example.

Based on the current trend in data accumulation and usage of data, it looks like the day is not far when 1) There will be state and central ministers for data like we have ministers for coal, petroleum etc. 2) Companies  will be taxed based on the amount of data accumulated. And companies will add data in the assets column in the balance sheet. 3) Rich kid or poor kid is determined by the amount of high quality data the kid inherits from parents. 4) Self-reflection is done with consciously captured own data.
