It's so strange to see in 21st century that there are still some countries where only Kings and Queens can be the heads of the state. And some of these countries talk about equal rights, human rights, animal rights, and all other types of rights in other countries but in their own country there is inequality by birth. Only if you are born in the Royal Family you can be head of the state. When will people start thinking? When will these people realize these are the countries that are actually backward because how can some people have more rights than others just because of the family in which in they are born? Yes, politicians are not bad, we are feckless.  If we would have the real interest towards nation building and if we would be responsible our politicians wouldn't be bad. We wouldn't allow them to get there. If they have got there, we wouldn't allow them to be there. How conveniently we cover up our irresponsible behavior by blaming the politicians for everything that goes wrong? It's time we understand that the MLAs and MPs (Lok Sabha) are elected by us and they in turn elect the Chief Minister of the state and Prime Minister of the country respectively. We have a choice to elect as to who will govern us. This is why it's called democracy. We behave as if it's some people's prerogative to be ministers. No it's not. They did not land here from the Sky and take over power and control of the State or Nation, they are not kings to pass on the power to their children, and it's not military rule.  We have elected them. Don't choose before you understand your options Why make a choice when you don't understand the options? You could be getting yourself and others into big trouble with the choices you make without understanding the options. Whether in education, job, elections or personal life, shouldn't we make choices after we understand the options? I understand if it's a situation where decision has to be made with no time left to understand all options in full detail we may have to choose the best at that point in time with whatever little knowledge we have. But in all other cases shouldn't we make effort to understand the available options? One of the main points that comes to my mind is about how we elect our political leaders. Have we done any research on our own before we vote for someone?  Most people vote without understanding whom they are voting. Some blindly elect candidates of the same party their forefathers voted or they just blindly vote based on religion,...

Vote for the candidate, who you think based on your research will do the best for you in the long term without considering candidate's identities (Religion, Sex, Nationality, Language etc).
