Light - A short poem

A side of Earth is dark, and other bright
Based on side, Earth shows to Sun's light
I'm so happy, that it rotates alright
And we experience day and night

We cannot see without the light
Even when the object is pure white
To be seen, it's not the weight or height
It's the position, which has to be right

But remember, with external light
It could all be a very wonderful sight
And we may see it all, but gain no insight
For that we should turn on our inner light

Diwali, a festival of lights, thinking about writing a poem about Diwali for my 5 year old son I ended up writing a short poem about light.
