Don't believe in yourself

I hear quite a lot of people saying “believe in yourself”. I request please don't believe in yourself. You don’t have to stick to beliefs when you can know.

Let me explain with a few simple examples that you can relate

When you go to buy a shoe do you believe your shoe size is 5,6,7, 8, .. or do you know it ?

You either knew it based on your previous purchase or you would measure your size then and there and know your size and then buy the shoe, right?

If you didn’t know whether you could fly or not, would you jump off from top of a building believing that you can fly? Or would you rather prefer to know if you can fly or not by testing it from the ground first?

If you didn’t know whether you could swim or not, would you jump into a sea believing you can swim or would you rather prefer to know if you can swim or not by jumping into a swimming pool first?

You have attempted an interview for a job, would you believe that you were hired and show up at the office on a random day believing in yourself or would you want to know you were hired or not?

As you can see, for everything that we do, from big things to small things, from occasional things to daily errands, we want to know, not believe. Knowing brings clarity. So please don't believe in yourself. Know yourself, and discover yourself. Know what your strengths are, know what your weaknesses are, know what works for you and what doesn't, then you don't have to believe in yourself, you know yourself.

Don't believe in yourself, know yourself.
