If you are anyway selling a part of your life, sell it well.

If you are an employee, do you know what you (you, not your company) are selling?

You are selling a part of your life for the money that you get.  How?

Your employer pays you for your time. Whether it's fixed income, variable income, freelancing, contract, permanent, services, expertise, whatever it is,  all of it boils down to time.
If you are providing an idea, to come up with that idea you have spent time, if you are providing your expertise, to reach that level of expertise you have spent time in the past, if you are developing or testing or training or taking calls, whatever you do, you are spending your time now or you have spent time in the past. Your employer buys your time, your employer is your customer, you sell your time. 

And time is not equal to money, it's much much more than money, see my previous post time is not equal to money Life is a certain span of time. When someone gets killed, their time ends. In a Job, you sell your time to get money. And as Life is a certain span of time, you are selling a part of your life to get money.

Is it right or wrong? That's not the question. Are you making good use of that time is the question. Are you getting the highest amount, highest respect, most happiness you should get for your time spent is the question. Value your time, because that's how you value your life. Choose the job that is best for you. Your time is valued based on your level of expertise, increase your level of expertise to increase value of your time, to increase value of part of your life.  If you are anyway selling a part of your life, sell it well.

How do supermarkets capture feedback?

In a small shop (mom and pop store) the owner of the shop gets direct feedback from customers. For example, when a customer comes to purchase something and if that item is missing or sold out, the owner immediately is aware about this. Now the owner decides if he should order that item or not.  My question is, how do supermarkets manage similar situations? In the supermarkets when some item is missing or sold out, most customers don't bother to ask the employees there, even if they ask the employees are not tracking any of this and therefore not passing this information to store manager or management?
